In igneous and metamorphic rocks, minerals are formed due to the effect of heat and pressure when magma or lava cools. Minerals in these rocks are present in cracks and joints. Smaller occurrences are called veins and the larger are called lodes. There are various types of minerals found in these rocks like tin, copper, zinc, lead and diamond etc.
