Poverty has led to a constant increase in child labour, especially in developing and underdeveloped countries. Children, who are as young as 8 and 9 years, are made to work under torturous conditions. Every child has the right to basic education, which the Government of India provides free of cost. To deprive a child of its basic rights will only lead to their lack of knowledge and experience required to build a good lifestyle. Educating a child means helping them learn values, social behaviours and breaking the vicious cycle of poverty. Child labour takes away the opportunity of a child to have a normal childhood and a proper education. It is the responsibility of each citizen to voice against this evil. Child labour is a criminal offence and legal steps need to be taken against people who employ children. Every Voice Matters! Make Yours Count! |
