Question

Ravi bought a curtain of length `15 3/4` m. If he cut the curtain into small pieces each of length `2 1/4` m, then how many small curtains will he get?

Sum

Solution

Length of the curtain Ravi had = `15 3/4` m

Length of the small curtain = `2 1/4` m

∴ Number of pieces = `15 3/4 ÷ 2 1/4`

= `63/4 ÷ 9/4`

= `63/4 xx 4/9`

= 7

Ravi will get 7 small curtains.
