Question

Simplify and express the following in exponential form:

`(a^6/a^4) xx a^5 xx a^0`

Sum

Solution

We have, `(a^6/a^4) xx a^5 xx a^0` = (a6–4 × a5 × 1)  ......`[∵ a^m/a^n = a^(m-n) and a^0 = 1]`

= a2 × a5 = a2+5  ......[∵ am × an = am+n]

= a7
