Solution

2a - 2b - 4 - 5 + a on putting a = -1, b = -2 in the given equation

= 2a + a - 2b - 4 - 5

= 3a - 2b - 9

= 3 × (-1) - 2 (-2) - 9

= -3 + 4 - 9

= -8
