Question
Solve the following equation: 5y + 4.9 = 2.4
Solution
5y + 4.9 = 2.4
⇒ 5x + 4.9 - 4.9 = 2.4 - 4.9 ...(Substracting 4.9 from both sides)
⇒ 5y = - 2.5
⇒ `"5y"/5 = 2.5/2` ..(Dividing by 5)
∴ x = - 0.5
