Solve the given simultaneous equations using graphical method.

3x + 2y = 6, 5x + y = 10

The given equations are:

3x + 2y = 6  ...(i)

And 5x + y = 10  ...(ii)

For equation (i): 3x + 2y = 6

x 0 2
y = `(6 - 3x)/2` 3 0
(x, y) (0, 3) (2, 0)

For equation (ii): 5x + y = 10

x 0 2
y = 10 – 5x 10 0
(x, y) (0, 10) (2, 0)

The graphical representation of the two lines is shown below:

The intersection point of two equations is (2, 0).

Hence, x = 2 and y = 0
