Questions
State any three ways a team can score a point in a game of volleyball.
How is a point scored in the game of volleyball?
Solution
Three ways a team can score a point in a game of volleyball are:
- By successfully grounding the ball on your opponent's court.
- When the other team commits a fault, the point goes to the team that did not commit the fault.
- When the opposing side is penalised.
- The opponents are unable to return the ball within three hits.
- The opponents hit the ball out of bounds.
- If there is a net violation (touching the net), a point will go to the other team.
- If the ball is sent over either by a hit, pass, set, tip or anything else and the ball is not returned the other team will get a point.
