Suppose a stick is struck against a frying pan in vacuum. Will the frying pan vibrate? Will we be able to hear the sound? Explain.
Solution
Yes, the frying pan will vibrate.
Since, it is being hit by the stick but vibrations need a medium to travel and there is no medium in vacuum, so we can not hear the vibrations produced.
