Question

The ages of Jatin, Nitin and Mohasin are 16, 24 and 36 years respectively. What is the ratio of Nitin’s age to Mohasin’s age?

Options

  • 3 : 2

  • 2 : 3

  • 4 : 3

  • 3 : 4

MCQ

Solution

2 : 3

Explanation:

Age of Nitin = 24 years

Age of Mohasin = 36 years

∴ Ratio of Nitin's age to Mohansin's age

= Age of Nitin : Age of Mohasin

= 24 years : 36 years

= `24/36`

= `[ 24 ÷ 12]/[36 ÷ 12]`  ( HCF of 24 and 36 = 12)

= `2/3`

= 2 : 3

Thus, the ratio of Nitin's age to Mohasin's age is 2 : 3.
