⇒ x1 + x2 + x3 + .... + x19 = 175
New mean (α) = `(x_1 + x_2 + x_3 + .... + x_19 + 35)/20`
= `(175 + 35)/20` = 10.5
∴ S.D. = `sqrt((x_1^2 + x_2^2 + x_3^2 + ... + x_19^2 + (25)^2)/20 - (10)^2`
⇒ 2.5 = `sqrt((x_1^2 + x_2^2 + x_3^2 + ... + x_19^2 + (25)^2)/20 - (10)^2`
⇒ `x_1^2 + x_2^2 + x_3^2 + ... + x_19^2` = 1500
New S.D. `(sqrtβ) = sqrt((x_1^2 + x_2^2 + x_3^2 + ... + x_19^2 + (35)^2)/20 - (10.5)^2`
= `sqrt((1500 + (35)^2)/20 - (110.25))`
`sqrtβ = sqrt(26)`
