Question
The place value of a digit at the hundredths place is `1/10` times the same digit at the tenths place.
Options
True
False
Solution
This statement is True.
Explanation:
Let 0.11 be a decimal number having same digits at tenths and hundredths place.
Now, the place value of 1 at tenths place = `1/10` .....(i)
The place value of 1 at hundredths place = `1/100` .....(ii)
From equations (i) and (ii), we get `1/100 = 1/10 xx 1/10`
∴ The place value of 1 at hundredths place is `1/10` times of 1 at tenths place.
