Let the price of trouser = x, Let the price of Shirts = y

According to the question,

2x + 4y = 1600

⇒ x + 2y = 800 .....(i) (deviding by 2)

and 

x + 6y = 1600 ......(ii)

Solving eq (i) and (ii)

4y = 800 

y = 200

for 12 Shirts he has to pay = 12 × 200 = 2400
