Role of school in supporting learning disabled children:
- Awareness programs should be held for teachers, parents and students to identify children with learning disabilities as soon as possible and spread the awareness.
- Early identification facilitates treatment and better outcomes.
- At school children should be granted concessions in the form of allowing late submission of notebooks.
- Parents are given the permission to complete their notebooks.
- Teachers should be lenient while correcting these children’s scripts, avoid deduction of marks during exams in terms of spellings, grammatical errors etc.
- At board level the Examination Council gives a child concessions like getting a reader, writer, using a calculator etc.
