The salary of a man is increased from Rs. 600 per month to Rs. 850 per month. Express the increase in salary as percent.

Sum

Solution

Original salary of a man = Rs. 600

Increased salary = Rs. 850

∴ Amount of increase = Rs. 850 - 600 = Rs. 250

Percentage increase `= (250 xx 100)/600 = 125/3`

`= 41 2/3 %`
