1. Indian Arms Act – 1879 : This Act made criminal offence for Indian to carry arms without a license. This act was not applicable to British.
2. Vernacular Press Act – 1878 : Prohibited vernacular paper to publish any material that might excite feeling of dissatisfaction against the British government.
3. The maximum Are limit for the Indian Civil Service Examination was reduced from 21 years to 19 years, thus making it difficult for Indian to compete for it.
