Question
The volume of a cube is 1331 cm3. Find its total surface area.
Solution
Let the side of the cube be 'a' cm
∴ Volume of cube = a3
∴ 1331 = a3 ...(Given)
∴ a = `root(3)(1331)` ...(Taking cube roots on both sides)
∴ a = 11cm
Surface area of a cube
= 6a2
= 6 x 112
= 6 x 121
= 726cm2
Hence, the surface area of the cube is 726cm2.
