Question
The wavelength of light of a particular colour is 5800 Å.
Express it in nanometre.
Solution
As we know, 1 nm = 10 Å
Given, Wavelength of light of particular colour = 5800 Å
Substituting the value of wavelength in the relation above, we get,
10 Å = 1 nm
1 Å = `1/10` nm
∴ 5800 Å = `1/10` × 5800 nm
∴ 5800 Å = 580 nm
Hence, wavelength of 5800 Å in nm = 580 nm.
