Question

Three identical coins are tossed together. What is the probability of obtaining:
exactly one head?

Sum

Solution

Total outcomes = 8

i.e. (H,H,H),(H,H,T),(H,T,H),(T,T,T),(T,H,H),(T,T,H),(H,T,T),(T,H,T)

Favourable outcome = 3 (H,T,H) , (T,T,H) , (H,T,T)

∴ P(E) = `3/8`
