Importance of herbarium

  1. The collection of dried, pressed & preserved plants in sheets is called herbarium.
  2. These sheets are arranged systemically according to the accepted system of classification.
  3. It is used to provide information about flora.
  4. It is used to study the morphology of plants.
  5. Hence its comparative studies are used in the identification of unknown plants.

Importance of museums

It consists of a collection of preserved plants and animals used for study and references.

Many museums publish journals and research papers to make available the results of research in their collection.
