What is ‘carrying capacity’ of a species in a habitat ? Why is logistic growth model considered more realistic?

Carrying capcity (K) :
(i) In a nature a given habitat has enough resources to support a maximum possible number beyond which no further growth is possible this limit is called nature's carrying capcity (K) for that species in that habitat.
(ii) Logistic growth model considered more realistic because resources for growth for most animal populations are finite and become limiting sooner or later.
