Question

What is the current I in the given circuit (Fig. )?

Diagram

Solution

In given circuit, two 2 ohm resistors in series are connected in parallel with another 2 ohm resistor;
Therefore equivalent resistance of the circuit,

R = [(2 + 2-1 + (2)-1]-1

R = `(1/4 + 1/2 = 3/4)`-1

R = `4/3`

I = `"V"/"R" = 3/(4//3) = 9/4` A = 225A
