What do you mean by a truth table?

A truth table shows all possible combinations of the input and corresponding outputs. The truth table defines the function of a logic gate. Truth tables help understand the behaviour of a logic gate.

Each input combination has its own row in the truth table. Because a logical variable has just two possible values, 0 and 1, there are 2N possibilities of N inputs, resulting in 2N rows in the table.
