What is the Economic and Social Council? How is it formed?
Solution
The Economic and Social Council of the UNO is the principal organ to co-ordinate the economic and social functions. It coordinates the functions of the specialized agencies and institutions of the UNO.
The Council consists of 54 members elected by the General Assembly for a term of three years. Its headquarters is at New York.
