Question
What happens to the position of an element in the periodic table when its nucleus emits γ radiation? Give reason for your answer.
Solution
γ radiations are uncharged and have no mass. So there is no change in atomic mass and the atomic number of elements emitting γ radiation and the position of the element remain the same in the periodic table.
