What happens when we swallow our food?

1. Our tongue squeezes off a portion and pushes down into your throat to the top of the esophagus.
2. When we swallow muscular waves push the food along the digestive tract from the mouth down the esophagus to the stomach.
3.  From the stomach, it moves on to the small and large intestine.
