Question
What is magnetic hysterisis?
Short Note
Solution
The magnetic flux density through a material is dependent on both the applied magnetizing field and the prior state of magnetization, a phenomenon known as magnetic hysteresis, which is shown by ferromagnetic materials. The flux density B lags behind (does not stay in step) with magnetizing field H because it is still remembering its former state of magnetization. Hysteresis is the term for this delay in the magnetization M (or, equivalently, B) change in reaction to a change in H.
