Question
What should be subtracted from `5/9` to get `9/5`?
Solution
Let the first number be x
Other number = `5/9`
Difference of two number = `9/5`
According to question,
`therefore 5/9 - "x" = 9/5`
`"x" = 5/9 - 9/5`
`"x" = (5 xx 5)/(9 xx 5) - (9 xx 9)/(5 xx 9)`
(∵ L.C.M. of 9 and 5 = 45)
`"x" = 25/45 - 81/45`
`"x" = (25 - 81)/45 = - 56 /45`
