Following measures were taken by Delhi Government :

  3. Engines have been upgraded.
  4. Bharat Stage emission standards (BS) that were equivalent to Euro norms were established.
  5. From 2001 to 2007, Bharat Stage II (BS II) to BS VI regulations were issued.
  6. The administration took steps such as stopping educational institutions, halting construction or demolition activities, and vacuuming highways.
  7. Polluting industries have been penalised, and the Badarpur thermal power plant has been temporarily shut down.
