What would you observe when zinc is added to a solution of iron (II) sulphate? Write the chemical reaction that takes place.
Solution
Zinc is more reactive than Iron. When zinc is added to iron (II) sulphate then it will displace the iron from iron sulphate solution as shown in the following chemical reaction.
\[\ce{Zn_{(s)} + FeSO4_{(aq)} -> ZnSO4_{(aq)} + Fe_{(s)}}\]
