Solution
Because the light is experiencing a strong first reflection at the silver surface NP, picture A2 is the brightest.
Within the thickness of the glass plate, the reflected beam CC' further experiences several reflections at C', D, D', and refractions at D, E, F..., resulting in multiple virtual images A3, A4, A5 as well as gradually decreasing brightness.
