Question
Which is greater in the following?
`(-3)/4, 2/(-3)`
Solution
`(-3)/4, 2/(-3)`
By converting them to equal fractions
`(-3)/4 = (-3 xx 3)/(4 xx 3) = (-9)/12`
`(-2 )/3 = (-2 xx 4)/(3 xx 4) = (-8)/12`
As -8 > -9
Therefore, `2/(-3)` is greater.
