Question
With reference to the judiciary, what is meant by the term 'impeachment'?
Answer in Brief
Solution
- The President may dismiss a judge from office if it is determined that the judge is unable or has acted inappropriately.
- When an address from each house of parliament, approved by the majority of its total membership and by the majority of at least two-thirds of its present and voting members, is given to the president, the procedure for his removal can begin. We call this process impeachment.
