Solution
During the Sultanate period, society was marked by inequalities. In towns, the nobles and merchants led a life of great luxury. The great mass of people lived in the simple life and had to face many hardships. It was, however, not a life without joy, as numerous festivals and fairs held from time to time used to relieve them of their monotonous existence.
