Question
Write down the changes that will be seen in each instance and explain the reason behind them.
Dilute H2SO4 was taken in an electrolytic cell and an electric current was passed through it.
Solution
In dilute H2SO4, H+ and `"SO"_4^(2-)` ions are produced due to dissociation. Electric current passes through these ions. During this process H2 gas is produced at the negative side, and O2 gas is produced at the positive side.
