Question
Write the following in descending order:
`5sqrt(3), sqrt(15) and 3sqrt(5)`
Solution
Since `5sqrt(3) = sqrt(5^2 xx 3) = sqrt(25 xx 3) = sqrt(75)`
`sqrt(15) = sqrt(15)`
`3sqrt(5) = sqrt(3^2 xx 5) = sqrt(9 xx 5) = sqrt(45)`
Since, 75 > 45 > 15, we have `sqrt(75) > sqrt(45) > sqrt(15)`.
Hence, `5sqrt(3) > 3sqrt(5) > sqrt(15)`.
