Mama pangolin told Baby that their scales are made of keratin, the same stuff that makes up human nails and rhino horns. A safe place for them to live is in a hole in the ground. Night-dwelling animals, like pangolins, get up at night to look for food.

Since pangolins don't have teeth, they catch their main food, ants and termites, with their long, sticky tongue. They can also climb trees with their strong claws and tail. To stay safe, they curl up into a tight ball when they feel danger.
