Decisions are usually collective, which can make individual aspirations and preferences take a backseat. While joint families promote togetherness and cultural values, they can also lead to conflicts, lack of privacy, and dependence on others for decision-making. Hence, a nuclear family provides a better balance between family bonding and personal independence.
