प्रश्न

A and B together can complete a piece of work in 6 days. A can do it alone in 10 days. Find the number of days in which B alone can do the work.

योग

उत्तर

Number of days A takes alone to complete the work = 10 Days.

∴ Amount of work done by A in 1 day = `(1)/(10)`

Let the number of Days B working alone = x

∴ Amount of work done by B in 1 day = `(1)/x`

No of Days they take working together = 6 days

∴ Amount of work done by both in 1 day = `(1)/(6)`

⇒ `(1)/(10) + (1)/x = (1)/(6)`

⇒ `(1)/x = (1)/(6) - (1)/(10)`

= `(5 - 3)/(30)`

= `(2)/(30)`

= `(1)/(15)`
⇒ x = 15 days.
Thus, the number of Days B working alone = 15 days.
