प्रश्न
A dozen bananas costs ₹ 20. What is the price of 48 bananas?
उत्तर
Let the required price be ₹ x.
As the number of bananas increases price also increases
∴ Number of bananas and cost are in direct proportion.
Number of bananas | 1 dozen = 12 | 48 |
Cost in rupees | 20 | x |
`(x_1)/(y_1) = (x_2)/(y_2)`
`12/20 = 48/x`
x = `(48 xx 20)/12`
x = 80
∴ Price of 48 bananas = ₹ 80.
