Answer in detail:

Explain, with examples, how winds affect the climate of a place.

संक्षेप में उत्तर

उत्तर

  1. The winds affect the climate because they create the hot and cold air which moves around.
  2. Prevailing winds affect the climate of an area. The direction of local winds is determined by the daily temperature of variations.
  3. When winds blow from warm areas, they carry higher temperatures while winds blowing from cold areas carry lower temperatures.
  4. Thus, winds bring in heat/cold from the direction it has been blown from and thus change the temperature of the place which affects the climate. For e.g., cold wind waves from the Himalayas carry coldness to the parts of the Deccan plateau.
  5. Winds that blow from the sea often carry moisture and give rain to the coast. For e.g., south-west monsoon winds give heavy rainfall on the western coastline of India.
  6. Some winds are warm and dry, they increase the temperature during the winter season. For example, winds that blow to Britain from warm areas such as Africa are warm and dry. Such warm and dry winds increase the summer temperature in some areas.
