प्रश्न
Arrange the following rational numbers in ascending order.
`(-7)/(12), (-3)/(10) and (-2)/(5)`
उत्तर
Given number : `(-7)/(12), (-3)/(10) and (-2)/(5)`
The L.C.M. of 12, 10 and 5 is 60.
Thus, numbers are:
`(-7)/(12)`
= `(-7 xx 5)/(12 xx 5)`
= `(-35)/(60)`;
`(-3)/(10)`
= `(-3 xx 6)/(10 xx 6)`
= `(-18)/(60)`;
`(-2)/(5)`
= `(-2 xx 10)/(5 xx 10)`
= `(-20)/(60)`
Since -35 < -20 < -18, we have `(-7)/(12) < (-2)/(5) < (-3)/(10)`.
