(Ca = 40, Na = 23, Mg = 24, S = 32, C = 12, Cl = 35.5, O = 16, H = 1)

Molar weight = [40 + 12 + (3 x 16)] = 100 g
∴ 0.1 mole of CaCO3 has mass =100 (molar mass) x 0.1
= 10 g
