प्रश्न

Distinguish cytokinesis from karyokinesis.

अंतर स्पष्ट करें

उत्तर

  Cytokinesis  Karyokinesis
1 Cytokinesis is the division of the cytoplasm of cell. Karyokinesis is the division of the nucleus of a cell.
2 It occur at the end of M-phase, after the neculear division is over. It occur during M-Phase of cell cycle before cytokinesis begin to proceed.
3 Stages such as prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase are not present in cytokinesis. It is divided into four stages: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase

While examining the mitotic stage in a tissue, one finds some cells with 16 chromosomes and some with 32 chromosomes. What possible reasons could you assign to this difference in chromosome number. Do you think cells with 16 chromosomes could have arisen from cells with 32 chromosomes or vice versa?
