प्रश्न
Explain in brief the experimental proof which led to the discovery of –
Protons
उत्तर
Protons: Since atoms are electrically neutral there must be equal positively charged particles in the atom. This led to the discovery of the protons.
Goldstein discovered protons. He used a perforated disc as a cathode and found positively charged rays travelling in the opposite direction to cathode rays.
These were protons i.e. positively charged particles, 1837 times heavier than an electron.
