E-tailing or electronic retailing refers to the selling of goods and services through a shopping website:
Advantages:
- Customers can buy the product at any time from anywhere.
- Direct contact of the end consumer by the manufacturer cuts down the cost.
- Customers can buy whatever they want by browsing the various sites.
Disadvantages:
- High Cost for E-marketing which requires a strong online advertising campaign for which the company has to spend a large amount. The cost of website design, software, hardware, maintenance of the business site, online distribution costs, and invested time, all must be factored into the cost of providing service or product online.
- It is not suitable for small size businesses. also deters customers from buying who live on long distances.
- While the number of customers is continuously growing, companies hardly update the information on the website.
- Many buyers are suspicious about the security of the internet. As a result, many visitors of business websites, do not like to use their credit cards to make a purchase.
