प्रश्न
Find the mean wage of a worker from the following data:
Wages (In ₹) | 1400 | 1450 | 1500 | 1550 | 1600 | 1650 | 1700 |
Number of workers | 15 | 20 | 18 | 27 | 15 | 3 | 2 |
उत्तर
Let the assumed mean be A = 1550. Thus
Wages (In ₹) `x_i` | Number of workers `(f_i)` | `d_i = x_i - 1550` | `f_i d_i` |
1400 | 15 | -150 | -2250 |
1450 | 20 | -100 | -2000 |
1500 | 18 | -50 | -900 |
A = 1550 | 27 | 0 | 0 |
1600 | 15 | 50 | 750 |
1650 | 3 | 100 | 300 |
1700 | 2 | 150 | 300 |
`sumf_i` = 100 | `sumf_i d_i = -3800` |
∴ Mean Wages = `"A" + (sumf_i d_i)/(sumf_i)`
= `(1,550 - (3,800)/100)`
= 1,550 - 38
= ₹1,512.
