Five times the price of a pen is Rs 17 more than three times its price. Find the price of the pen.

योग

उत्तर

Let the price of one pen be Rs x.
According to the question:
5x = 3x + 17
or, 5x − 3x = 17 [Transposing 3x to the L.H.S.]
or, 2x = 17
or, `(2x)/2=17/2` [Dividing both the sides by 2]
or, x = 8.50
∴ Price of one pen = Rs 8.50
