उत्तर

The word “hepatic'' used for “liver” and hepatic caeca in earthworm performs a function that's analogous to the liver in vertebrates. In cockroaches, it is present at the junction of the foregut and midgut. It is a hoop of 6-8 blind tubules. Their function is to secrete digestive juices to facilitate the process of digestion.
