उत्तर

This statement is False.

Explanation:

If p and q are in inverse proportion, then

xy = k  ...(Constant)

E.g. Let p = 3 and q = 4

Then, pq = 3 × 4 = 12

Now, p + 2 = 3 + 2 = 5 and q – 2 = 4 – 2 = 2

(p + 2) (q – 2) = 5 × 2 = 10   ...[Not in inverse proportion]

Hence, (p + 2) and (q – 2) cannot be in inverse proportion.
